Pomerantsev pereulok

This building was constructed in 1907 by F. Voskresenskiy for the industrialist N.N. Medintsev, who needed a large house for his art collection. The architect artistically combined  English and Scottish motifs with the late Modern style: thistle flowers, mosaics, ceramics and delicate fence. After the revolution this building accomodated the museum (based on Medintsev's collection), an international Famine Relief Commitee, French embassy, Brain institute and, finally, Guinean embassy. And today it is free and is looking for a new renter.
