Plotnikov pereulok

This apartment building was constructed in 1907 by Gerikhov, and it is famous by its bass-reliefs with the prominent Russian writers. According to the legend, these bass-reliefs were created for the Pushkin Museum, but I.V. Tsvetaev (museum director) disliked their sexual motives and they were put on the unknown building near to Arbat street.
Everyday lots of people pass by this strange architectural miracle and they don't notice Pushkin, Gogol and Tolstoy, looking at them from the building walls.
