This monumental eclectic building occupies almost the whole quarter near to the Sretenskyi bulvar. It was constructed in 1899- 1902 by the insurance company "Russia" and included 148 premium commercial apartments (200-400 square meters)dedicated to the Moscow elite. According to some sources, this building was one of the most comfortable construction in Imperial Moscow: it possessed laundries, air handling system, electric elevators,eight boilers and its own artesian well!
Today it is still one of the most desirable and expensive places to live in the center of Moscow.
